Repeat prescriptions

Requests for repeat prescriptions which have already been authorised by a doctor can be made using our Patient Access Service.

To sign up for this service, we’ll need to see some photographic evidence of your identity and recent proof of current address. Please bring a current passport or photo driving licence to reception and we’ll provide you with a PIN number and step-by-step instructions.

If you’ve already got your PIN number then register on-line by clicking the Register for online services button.

Online services update

We have now added the facility for patients to book a range of appointments online and access summary medical information online from their records. For patients who have already signed up to order repeat medication and would like access to these additional services, please speak to our reception team. You may be asked to produce formal evidence of identity and current address, in person, at reception.

Ordering your Repeat Prescription online

Once you’re registered for on-line services, you can order online by clicking the Order your repeat prescriptions button.

  • You can use a Pharmacy/Chemist to order your prescriptions, or

using the tear-off re-order slip from your last prescription, please tick the items you need, then:

  • Post into the letterbox outside 24/7
  • Send it with an SAE for postal return to Washway Road Medical Centre 67 Washway Road Sale M33 7SS

If you’ve not got the re-order slip, please write your name, address, contact number and details of the medication(s) you need, then drop this to us as above. For safety reasons, we cannot accept telephoned requests for repeat items.

Please allow us TWO WORKING DAYS to process your prescription request, (ie if you drop off your request over the weekend, it will be ready for collection on Wednesday).

Collecting your prescription

After allowing us 2 working days, this can be either be:

  • collected by you in person (or by someone nominated by you)
  • mailed back to you via your SAE
  • sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice if you have signed up for this
  • collected by a local pharmacy of your choice

For the last 2 options, your pharmacy can then dispense your medication and have it ready for your collection – saving you time & effort! If you are permanently or temporarily housebound or find it difficult to get out to collect your medication, please ask your pharmacist if they can offer a delivery service.

Medication Reviews

From time to time your doctor will want to review you and your medication. When your review date approaches we will review your medication automatically; should any tests or appointments be needed, we will attach details to your completed prescription. It is helpful if you can arrange the necessary tests and/or appointments within the month before your next prescription is due. Reminders will be issued as necessary in order to continue to provide medication appropriate to your condition.

The pharmacy attached to our practice is entirely independent from us.
