Maternity Care

Ante-natal care is provided to make sure that you and your baby stay as healthy as possible throughout this exciting time.

Usually the community midwife deals with all your ante-natal care needs, so once you’ve confirmed that you’re pregnant you get contact details for your local community midwife team by ringing 0161 276 6246.

The Community midwives at Wythenshawe can be contacted on 0161 291 2996

The contact number for Urgent Maternity Triage Service at Wythenshawe is 0161 291 2724

The early pregnancy unit for concerns less then 16 weeks gestation is 0161 291 2561

If you wish to book at St Mary’s hospital instead, then you can self refer and you can find the form here:https://mft.nhs.uk/saint-marys/services/maternity-services-obstetrics/. You can also use this form to arrange your care at Wythenshawe.

Whilst you’re waiting for your first appointment, read our ante-natal care guide below.

There’s also important information about vitamin supplements you’ll need here.

Once you’ve attended your booking appointment and had your scan, you’ll be advised to book regular appointments to see the community midwife: clinics are held at Sale Road Children’s Centre on a Wednesday. You must book via the midwife team.

More information about keeping well during your pregnancy can be found here along with information about giving birth at Wythenshawe and St Mary’s hospitals.
