Travel health

We are pleased to be able to offer our services for both travel advice and travel vaccines. Find out what vaccinations and health precautions are needed here at least 6 weeks before you travel.

If you are travelling within Europe, book an appointment on 0161 905 4711 to see one of our nurses for:

  • travel advice
  • holiday vaccinations - mostly available free of charge on the NHS

Don’t forget if you are travelling within the European Economic Area (EEA) to make sure you have an up-to-date
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) . You will also need to arrange travel insurance, wherever your destination.

If you are travelling outside of Europe, it’s best to book a telephone appointment with our nurse first, so we can establish full details of your trip and plan what vaccinations, health precautions or preventative treatment against malaria, may be needed.

We are also an approved yellow fever vaccination centre - for our own patients and others whose surgeries are unable to offer this service.  Yellow fever vaccinations are not available on the NHS, so these are chargeable: please read our Non-NHS services for more information. Other non-NHS travel vaccines available to our patients only (& subject to availability) are rabies and Japanese B encephalitis - charges as above. Please book a telephone appointment with our nurse to discuss your requirements for these vaccinations.

Most vaccines are held in stock so we are usually able to start your course of vaccinations at your first clinic appointment. Children’s vaccinations will require the written consent of someone with parental responsibility attending at the time.
