Maternity care

Ante-natal care is provided to make sure that you and your baby stay as healthy as possible throughout this exciting time.

Usually the community midwife deals with all your ante-natal care needs, so once you’ve confirmed that you’re pregnant, ring the community midwife at Wythenshawe hospital on 0161 291 2942 or 0161 291 2996 to request a booking appointment for Wythenshawe Hospital. If you wish to book at St Mary’s hospital instead, then ring the surgery on 0161 905 4711 and book a routine GP telephone consultation as St Mary’s don’t currently accept self-referrals. Whilst you’re waiting for your first appointment, read our ante-natal care guide below.

There’s also important information about vitamin supplements you’ll need here.

Once you’ve attended your booking appointment and had your scan, you’ll be advised to book regular appointments to see the community midwife: clinics are held at the practice on a Friday.  If you’re already set up for online appointment booking, you can book your appointments here.

More information about keeping well during your pregnancy can be found here along with information about giving birth at Wythenshawe and St Mary’s hospitals.
